Life Insurance Awareness
Every September, the industry — led by Life Happens — comes together to sponsor Life Insurance Awareness Month. This campaign is designed to educate consumers about the importance of life insurance and the role it plays in protecting families’ financial security.
If there is one thing we’ve learned through the past several years, it’s that life is fragile and it’s important to prepare for the unexpected. Our hope is that this heightened awareness will encourage more Americans to get the life insurance coverage they need.
Recent LIMRA research shows that 52% of consumers reported owning life insurance (e.g., individual, employer-sponsored, etc.), which is up from 50% in 2022 but down from 63% in 2011.
This is especially important since LIMRA research also shows that 38% of households would face financial hardship within six months should a wage earner die unexpectedly — 30% would suffer financially within a month.
Here we are making available resources that provide insights about what’s impacting life insurance ownership in 2024 and the important role life insurance can play in providing financial protection. Please contact us for any assistance you may need with your marketing efforts.
